East Anchorage
Bordered by Russian Jack Springs Park, Campbell Park, and the Glenn and New Seward highways, East Anchorage is ideally situated between downtown, Midtown, and South Anchorage. All of the city’s amenities are just a short drive away, and the neighborhood offers plenty of wide-open green space for outdoor play. Whatever you’re shopping for, you’ll have no trouble finding it in East Anchorage. Across from the Rogers Park subdivision Carrs, REI, and Nordstrom Rack anchor the newly renovated Midtown Mall, which is also home to locally-owned specialty shops, a bank, and several spots to grab a cup of coffee or bite to eat. On the other side of East Anchorage the Northway Mall, anchored by Carrs, Joann’s, and Burlington Coat Factory, offers a similar variety of small, local shops.
University of Alaska
East Anchorage is also home to the U-Med District, placing you near Providence Alaska Medical Center and numerous doctor’s offices. The University of Alaska, Anchorage and Alaska Pacific University are also nearby, putting you close to lectures, on-campus plays, concerts, and sporting events, whether on campus or at the Alaska Airlines Center.
Family Fun
Like the rest of Anchorage, East Anchorage offers plenty of opportunities to get out and explore. The fully-paved Chester Creek Trail, part of Anchorage’s greenbelt, is accessible at 20th Street and travels through wooded areas before ending at Goose Lake. The 300-acre Russian Jack Springs has a 9-hole golf course, dog park, children’s story time at the greenhouse and, in winter, one of the best sledding hills in Anchorage. There are also numerous parks with play equipment for the kids.
East Anchorage Eateries
For dining, typical fast-food restaurants sit alongside local fast-casual favorites, like Burrito Express and sandwich shop Sara’s Too. There’s also perennial “Best of” winner Moose’s Tooth Pub & Pizzeria, the Mediterranean Turkish Delight, and Thai Kitchen when you want to enjoy a leisurely evening out.

Airport Heights
Located between the Merrill Field Airport and Alaska Regional Hospital, Airport Heights residents have easy access to the Chester Creek Trail. The Northway Mall, Carrs, and Costco are nearby, and it is conveniently located between Midtown and downtown shopping and the shops at Tikahtnu Plaza.

Russian Jack Springs Park, with its wide-open spaces, playground, ball fields, and more, is one of the highlights of the neighborhood.
